The client wanted to build a large home that looked like a storybook cottage for his wife. He also wanted an apartment duplex built behind that home – all located on a slope high above Orange County.
Inspired by Queen Anne and Victorian design, DSEA built this tri-level 2600sf Cottage Style home and duplex from the ground up on a sloping hill above Orange County.
The project was developed on an irregular site and infilled between adjoining residences and a public park. The buildings were strategically placed around a historic oak tree. The ground level is a three-car garage and workshop. Living areas on the second level have windows and a deck with views to the south clear to the ocean. Bedrooms on the third level open onto a balcony.
