PROJECT FACTS

STATUS
Completed

This project remodeled an existing YMCA building to include an Infant Care Center for the First Presbyterian Church of Orange.  This project served both the church and a non-profit group that provides care for infants of homeless mothers that are part of Casa Teresa, a non-profit organization in Orange. The project included a classroom for 10 infant to toddler aged children with a crib/nap room, diaper changing area, art area, eating area, kitchen & staff work area, all compressed into less than 1,000sf.  It integrated a gable shaped interior ceiling with wood decking to provide elements of a homelike atmosphere in an institutional setting.

The project included the design of a 7,600sf adjoining playground for the First Presbyterian Preschool with licensing for 58 children, complete with site structures, water features, meandering tricycle path, and a giant boot slide that was donated to the Center.  Architectural and landscape services were provided.
