DSEA is currently working with the City of Vista who operates the Gloria McClellan Adult Activity Center, an existing 16,800 SF senior center undergoing a renovation that involves repurposing existing unused office spaces to create a new fitness center, an expanded activity center, and an employee lounge. The project started in 2019 but was put on hold due to the Covid pandemic. In a response to operational revisions as a result off the pandemic. The design program was modified to create more open multi-use spaces with the fitness area relocated to the existing front lobby, and the activity center enlarged with multiple smaller group meeting areas.
DSEA worked with the City’s Chief Building Officer to assure relocations to fire walls, exiting and accessibility requirements were being met. DSEA prepared construction documents for the original concept and has since re-designed and revised the construction documents for the more recent revised design program.
